Asset Database / Registry

SmartTraxx provides an enterprise-class database utilizing common database platforms like SQL Server or MySQL, for powerful performance for small organizations to large multi-national entities. A single database instance can include unlimited asset types in a single database instance. Each asset-type can include unlimited database fields.

SmartTraxx creates a computerized registry of assets in an easy-to-use and quick-query database structure. The database can be queried using any database field or combination of database fields, based on the fields that were configured within SmartTraxx during the customer-vendor collaborative solution design process. The database can also be queried by meta-data fields, such as asset location, asset status, date or date-range.

‘Flat’ database designs have a single database table including all fields configured for the software application; a single listing of asset data fields. ‘Parent-Child’ database designs have one or more layers of ‘child’ records that are linked to the associated ‘parent’ (asset) record. For example, calibrations, inspections, preventative maintenance etc. can be a second layer of data (child records) that are linked to the asset record based on a unique ID…such as asset #. Another example are asset components, such as a hard drive within a computer. The hard drive can be a child record to the corresponding computer/laptop asset record.

SmartTraxx also supports registry and management of software assets, with software/licensing data such as vendor, brand, software version, acquisition value, status and location. SmartTraxx also supports tracking of software licenses and any annual, renewal or maintenance fees.

Depreciation data and asset valuation data are also managed by the database, including bi-directional integration with backend systems, like Oracle or SAP, for maintaining critical financial data about assets. SmartTraxx also provides ‘unit of measure’ for assets, in reconciling procurement data to produce individual asset records within the database.

SmartTraxx supports unlimited standard and customer reports, which can be generated from SmartTraxx and can be opened using spreadsheets or 3rd party reporting systems. SmartTraxx provides real-time access to all asset data, improving an organization’s asset accountability, utilization and status.
