RFID Storage Room Doorway Tracking

RFID Tracking of Assets through Storage Room Doorway
Storage room doorways can be equipped with RFID antennas to passively detect RFID tagged assets when the assets exit the storage room. The RFID antennas can be mounted on walls, ceiling or any surface, or, can be mounted in standup portals (similar to a retail store).
Doorways and portals typically are also equipped with motion sensors, so that the data captured at the doorway is not only the tagged assets detected, but also whether the assets were leaving the storage room or being returned to the storage room. The time and date of the asset detection is also captured and logged to the RFID database software.
If staff have RFID ID cards, then asset custody can be automatically transferred to the person removing the asset through the asset storage room doorway.
Asset storage room doorways can also be linked to flashing lights, alarms and alert protocols within the asset tracking database. If a RFID tagged asset is departing a room or a building in an unauthorized manner, the network connected lights and alarms will be automatically triggered, and, the RFID asset database will automatically trigger security alert emails and/or SMS text messages.
