Bar Code Asset Tracking-to-Storage

Bar Code Asset Tracking-to-Storage Locations
When assets are procured, the assets are often placed into storage. Whether serialized ‘unique’ assets or non-serialized ‘bulk’ assets.
SmartTraxx supports placement of bar code tags on storage locations, such as individual bins, shelves, pallets or floor-space areas. When assets are added to a storage area, the ‘location’ bar code is scanned, and then, the asset bar code is scanned, to update the asset management software with the exact location of an asset that is in storage. When non-serialized assets are received, a bin or other storage location can be scanner for placement of the assets, and the quantity can be incremented to update the part number’s current quantity.
For serialized and non-serialized assets, SmartTraxx keeps track of where the assets are located, and the quantity of assets. The reorder-quantity is included within each asset type’s database record, which creates reorder triggers when assets have fallen below designated minimum quantities.
